Generating a vibrant learning  environment is a skill Graham loves deploying, to inspire students to achieve their outcomes, and to individually contextualise the learning to their declared future .

He has expertise in turning around challenging participants’  negative attitudes into positive mindsets.

He has extensive knowledge and expertise in VET regulations

rapport
Graham has a remarkable ability to swiftly establish authentic rapport with individuals and large groups so that participants engage enthusiastically and enjoy the training from Day One.
diverse clients

Most training, refresher and PD groups are diverse. Sensitivity and inclusivity are paramount. All of Graham’s experience has been with a wide variety of participants, including age, ability, culture, gender, religion etc. as well as those who are more challenging in their attitudes.
With his very broad understanding and experience of people of diverse backgrounds he brings a sensitivity and care to all participants.

student approval rating
Throughout his training career, participants have assessed Graham’s training ability and knowledge, the value of the training and their enjoyment of the course consistently at an aggregated 90% to 95%.
motivational workshops

Graham’s motivational training is positive, vibrant, inclusive, interactive, safe and fun.
To enhance his presentations Graham completed an intensive course which sharpened his ability to relate to, and coach, individual participants and groups using skills that cause the participant to design and create their own outcomes and experience the feeling of personal empowerment. The results were immediate.

contextual training
Because in order to successfully learn and use the training, students need to relate concretely and conceptually with the content. Graham is strongly focused on contextualising the content for each individual, their lives and their outcomes.
results

For the client the student success and retention rates are naturally paramount. Graham’s student outcomes are exemplary. For example he gained an effective 100% retention with a class of 16 students, with most students gaining the full qualification. He retained the whole group of five Early School Leavers over eight weeks which the Manager described as a miracle.

The Trainer's Edge Podcast

Graham has recorded and produced a podcast series to share skills and techniques he has learned that may assist both new and experienced trainers; things that can only be learnt in the wild. The Trainer’s Edge is available on a number of platforms including iTunes and  Spotify.

PortCast

Graham highly recommends the PortCast podcast which is a fresh, and refreshing, new podcast about Port Macquarie and surroundings. One on one interviews with amazing people of one of the most loved, friendly and relaxed towns in Australia. Especially interesting for the huddled masses seeking sea-change relief from Capitol cities. (Sponsored of course)

Life Experience Matters

The Trainer, to be really effective, must be able to connect through

  • rich life experience
  • love of learning, a passion for teaching, and broad knowledge and interest
  • an ability to understand, empathise with and nurture people.

Without these a Trainer struggles to communicate with diverse clients, and to help clients engage by making the material relevant at a personal level.
The Trainer’s success comes ultimately not from seeking his own success, nor attention to his skills and techniques, but from unwavering focus on the students and their success.

He has trained people from a broad mix of backgrounds, ages, genders, religions, abilities, needs and attitudes, including those who are difficult and challenging.
His life experiences and training have skilled him to meet authentically with people, with confidence, enthusiasm and a positive mindset.

Many of his students are still in touch years after the training event.

   After the Whiteboard

Jody came to class because she was overwhelmed at her first attempt at uni and wanted some practice at formal study. She gained such confidence that others were amazed by her “sudden” transformation and self-confidence. She returned to uni to study nursing and make her contribution to the world.

Two women attending a one-day motivational course reported, within days, that as a direct result of the training, they gained the jobs they really wanted.

Jack asked for help to make a personal presentation to attain his Engineering Associateship. After one on one coaching he reported back that on the basis of his presentation he won his Associateship.

Suzanne’s new sense of determination to succeed academically surprised even her. She described Graham as ‘not a “teacher” teacher’.

Yousef was an Early School Leaver. He decided to go back and finish school.

Ali complained that he was depressed – no job, no girlfriend, no house, no kids, no future – and within months after one-on-one coaching he reported that he was working, was engaged to be married and had put a deposit on the house he had visualised in the sessions. He later reported he would soon be a father.
